Grids of Connection

By Melissa Heathers

Our world is filled with grids and how we accept them might be the question of our existence.

In the heart of most major cities like New York, the New Yorker survives primarily on a grid. In the heart of the wilderness, the wild calls and one who resides in nature is mostly living aka off the grid. But can any human ever really exist without any sort of grid? What does a grid provide to humankind, whether it be in the big apple or flora and fauna?

A grid is defined as, “a system of lines used to find the location of any place on the surface of earth.”  On our earth we have a grid system and within that system there are lines of latitude and longitude. These grid systems serve the greater good of humanity and the eco system for many important reasons.

Whether one lives on the grid or off the grid there is one thing in common....and that is connection.

If you are living within the hustle and bustle of the big apple, the grid system there was designed to be efficient and simple to navigate but it was also designed for another purpose, how people rub shoulders. While in New York, one can rub a lot of shoulders.

If you are roughing it in nature and off the grid, you may not be rubbing shoulders with humans, but you are probably rubbing elbows with your peaceful surroundings. The wilderness may not have a tangible grid like the grid lines you may see in a city, but it is still a part of an intangible grid, and our grids found in nature have curved how we manifest notions into design.

Without the intangible grids of nature there would be no tangible grids of life. All grid systems serve a purpose and that is connection. Connection to nature brings connection to our self. Connection within our self allows connection to other human beings and a higher purpose. Only within a connection can manifestation arise. We are born to be connected to life and to a purpose. Without it, creation cannot exist. And without it, can humans exist?

Longitude is defined as, “the east or west position” while latitude is defined as, “the north or south position” Eventually either position crosses an invisible line. Regardless, these positions are life’s meridians. Within life we will encompass our own meridian but without the grid there can be no passage of energy to generate the connection we need survive.

Through our lifetime we are meant to cross many paths and have much relevance. Without relationship, whether it be with ourselves or others one would not exist. Without the existing grids or meridians of life we would probably not have pathways of a different existence. These invisible crossroads serve an especially important purpose, that is the connection point to our existence and evolution.

So, if you LOVE the big apple find the value in the specifically designed grid it can serve as a passage to an unbelievably valuable purpose, human connection. If you are in LOVE with nature, feel the special connection found within natures grid. Either connection is equally valuable, it is part of the grid to your life.
