Rock The Boat

When a boat is launched into a body of water, there is a duo of natural forces that must occur to allow it to float calmly. Gravity generates the downward force and buoyancy generates the upward force. The gravitational force has to be lesser than the buoyancy, otherwise the boat will sink to the bottom of the sea like the Titanic. Like anything in life, if a boat carries too much matter, it will simply be too heavy and may scuttle. Everything has an opposite for a reason and each opposite creates balance for smooth sailing.
But what happens when a wave hits your boat, causing it to list? Waves come in different magnitudes and when they crash into the side of your boat, just like an emotion, these can rock your inner peace and balance of your hub. We then react accordingly to try and address what's causing the turbulence, looking for answers to regenerate balance.
When steering in rough waters, we fight the current to regain steadiness while remaining faithful that calm seas are ahead. But how does an individual learn to sail through life with faith? Honestly, only by capsizing and sinking to the dark depths of the seabed. Once one hits rock bottom, one must fight fiercely for breath and life, swimming upwards to break the surface where the air and light are found. Like a lotus flower, one must fight out of the murky water to basks, then bloom in the glorious sun while floating in stillness. Only when we blossom will we generate the confidence to smoothly sail through life.
If sinking in troubled seas is the only way through life's storm, then why are so many of us afraid to rock the boat? Why are we afraid of the waves? Why are we scared to capsize when another crew member exists on the same vessel? Why are we so fearful to balance our own sail? In any storm that causes a boat, ship or vessel to oscillate, we need to be brave and observe the weather patterns within the squall to help us navigate out. If we don't observe our emotions when in the eye of the storm, we will never be able to escape the troubled weather. We would just stay stuck at sea, drifting aimlessly with massive waves consistently swaying our vessel. Literally, your boat will always be rocking, so tell others don't come knocking because you will never be sailing calmly.
Life is full of turbulence a simple disguise to keep ourselves from calm flow. It is our job to wear the captain's hat and steer our ship through our own sea of emotion.
How true it is to be the captain of our own ship, especially in friggin hurricanes!! There are two things I have learned through my many hurricanes (and i am not bragging, but it only took 46 years to figure this out!)... that... NO storms last forever...they always pass and that FEAR will create more problems that 85 percent of the time will not arise and well in those 15 percent, when you have observation over your emotional ship you sure can weather out those storms...thank you for sharing.
